Water vapor radiometry research and development phase
This report describes the research and development phase for eight dual-channel water vapor radiometers constructed for the Crustal Dynamics Project at the Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland, and for the NASA Deep Space Network. These instruments were developed to demonstrate that the variable path delay imposed on microwave radio transmissions by atmospheric water vapor can be calibrated, particularly as this phenomenon affects very long baseline interferometry measurement systems. Water vapor radiometry technology can also be used in systems that involve moist air meteorology and propagation studies
The table mountain 8-mm-wavelength interferometer
The system components, performance, and calibration of two element radio interferometer operating at 8.33 mm wavelength are discussed. The interferometer employs a 5.5 m and a 3 m diameter antenna on an east-west baseline of 60 or 120 m, yielding fringe spacings at transit of 28 or 14 in. respectively. The broad intermediate frequency bandpass of 100 to 350 MHz and the system noise temperature of 500 K provide high sensitivity for the measurement of continuum sources. The interferometer has been used for high resolution studies of the planets and the Sun, and it is currently being adapted to study solar flare emissions at high spatial and time resolution
Vertex Operators, Screen Currents and Correlation Functions at Arbitrary Level
Bosonized q-vertex operators related to the 4-dimensional evaluation modules
of the quantum affine superalgebra are constructed for
arbitrary level , where is a complex parameter
appearing in the 4-dimensional evaluation representations. They are
intertwiners among the level- highest weight Fock-Wakimoto modules.
Screen currents which commute with the action of up to
total differences are presented. Integral formulae for N-point functions of

Molecular Clouds associated with the Type Ia SNR N103B in the Large Magellanic Cloud
N103B is a Type Ia supernova remnant (SNR) in the Large Magellanic Cloud
(LMC). We carried out new CO( = 3-2) and CO( = 1-0)
observations using ASTE and ALMA. We have confirmed the existence of a giant
molecular cloud (GMC) at 245 km s towards the
southeast of the SNR using ASTE CO( = 3-2) data at an angular
resolution of 25 (6 pc in the LMC). Using the ALMA CO(
= 1-0) data, we have spatially resolved CO clouds along the southeastern edge
of the SNR with an angular resolution of 1.8 (0.4 pc in the
LMC). The molecular clouds show an expanding gas motion in the
position-velocity diagram with an expansion velocity of km s.
The spatial extent of the expanding shell is roughly similar to that of the
SNR. We also find tiny molecular clumps in the directions of optical nebula
knots. We present a possible scenario that N103B exploded in the wind-bubble
formed by the accretion winds from the progenitor system, and is now
interacting with the dense gas wall. This is consistent with a

Transfer matrix eigenvalues of the anisotropic multiparametric U model
A multiparametric extension of the anisotropic U model is discussed which
maintains integrability. The R-matrix solving the Yang-Baxter equation is
obtained through a twisting construction applied to the underlying Uq(sl(2|1))
superalgebraic structure which introduces the additional free parameters that
arise in the model. Three forms of Bethe ansatz solution for the transfer

Integrable multiparametric quantum spin chains
Using Reshetikhin's construction for multiparametric quantum algebras we
obtain the associated multiparametric quantum spin chains. We show that under
certain restrictions these models can be mapped to quantum spin chains with
twisted boundary conditions. We illustrate how this general formalism applies
to construct multiparametric versions of the supersymmetric t-J and U models.Comment: 17 pages, RevTe
Structure of the string R-matrix
By requiring invariance directly under the Yangian symmetry, we rederive
Beisert's quantum R-matrix, in a form that carries explicit dependence on the
representation labels, the braiding factors, and the spectral parameters u_i.
In this way, we demonstrate that there exist a rewriting of its entries, such
that the dependence on the spectral parameters is purely of difference form.
Namely, the latter enter only in the combination u_1-u_2, as indicated by the
shift automorphism of the Yangian. When recasted in this fashion, the entries
exhibit a cleaner structure, which allows to spot new interesting relations
among them. This permits to package them into a practical tensorial expression,
where the non-diagonal entries are taken care by explicit combinations of

Quantum superalgebras at roots of unity and non-abelian symmetries of integrable models
We consider integrable vertex models whose Boltzmann weights (R-matrices) are
trigonometric solutions to the graded Yang-Baxter equation. As is well known
the latter can be generically constructed from quantum affine superalgebras
. These algebras do not form a symmetry algebra of the model for
generic values of the deformation parameter when periodic boundary
conditions are imposed. If is evaluated at a root of unity we demonstrate
that in certain commensurate sectors one can construct non-abelian subalgebras
which are translation invariant and supercommute with the transfer matrix and
therefore with all charges of the model. In the line of argument we introduce
the restricted quantum superalgebra and investigate its
root of unity limit. We prove several new formulas involving supercommutators
of arbitrary powers of the Chevalley-Serre generators and derive higher order
quantum Serre relations as well as an analogue of Lustzig's quantum Frobenius

Effects of Clenbuterol, a β2-Adrenergic Agonist, on Sizes of Masseter, Temporalis, Digastric, and Tongue muscles
We compared the hypertrophic effects of clenbuterol, a β2-adrenergic agonist, on the masseter, digastric, and temporalis with those on the tongue, tibialis anterior, soleus, diaphragm, and heart. The weights of masseter, digastric and temporalis in the clenbuterol group were 36 ~ 56% greater than those in the control group, whereas those of the tibialis anterior, diaphragm, and heart weights in the clenbuterol group were 9 ~ 33% greater than those in the control group. No significant difference in the weights of the soleus and tongue was found between the control and clenbuterol groups. Taken together with our present and previously reported results, it is suggested that the hypertrophic effects of clenbuterol on the masseter, digastric, and temporalis are greater than those on the limb, trunk, and heart
